Tionna is a predoctoral candidate in the neuroscience program collaboration between Tufts University and The Jackson Laboratory. After completion of a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Maine, she worked with Dr. Simon John on projects that aim to understand early molecular and genetic changes in an early onset model of glaucoma. In the Kumar Lab, her work aims to use gait analysis to understand nociceptive behavior in a highly sensitive, dose responsive manner. As a student, Tionna’s interested in studying the connection between behavior, diet, and environment in relation to the onset of neurological disorders. In her spare time, she enjoys painting and exploring the trails of Acadia National Park.
